A recipe for disaster for a software vendor:
1. Make the GUI complex and quirky
2. Provide lousy documentation
3. Don't issue free bug releases
4. Don't offer upgrades at a reasonable price
5. Don't include in the documentation for an upgrade good descriptions of
new features and changes in existing features/functions/GUI
6. Don't offer a support subscription option that includes unlimited tech
support and free upgrades
7. Don't provide free tech support for a reasonable period after initial
purchase, or after purchase of a major upgrade
8. Don't provide an easy way for users to communicate their concerns, problems,
and wishes free of charge.
9. Charge a tech support fee when a user seeks help because of a bug, or an
error or omission in the documentation.
